Breast Augmentation Can Enhance Your Appearance And Self Esteem

Breast augmentation with implants is a surgical procedure that can enhance your appearance by providing a more aesthetically pleasing contour to your body. This plastic surgery procedure can also boost self-confidence, and improve self image and self confidence. This procedure will not however, change your appearance to be an exact match for your ideal, nor will it cause other people to treat you differently than they would treat you before surgery.

Prior to your decision to have plastic surgery, you should give serious thought to your expectations of the surgery results, do research and learn as much as you can about the procedures you are interested in, and make sure that you thoroughly discuss these things with your plastic surgeon.

The Breast Enhancment Experience Re-Defined

Choosing the right plastic surgeon to perform your breast enhancement procedure includes a number of factors. Among these factors, one of the most important is your recovery following the procedure. Dallas Texas Plastic Surgeon Dr. William P. Adams States "A re-defined patient experience is now possible in breast augmentation including 24 hour recovery. I believe the patient's recovery post-surgery is most definitely one of the most important factors that correlate to the quality of the results of a given procedure."

In the majority of cases, post-operative pain is an important issue for patients undergoing breast enhancement surgery. Modern plastic surgeons have employed clinical trials and on going research in order to advance recovery and increase the comfort of the patient during the healing process. Numerous procedure techniques designed to minimize post operative pain through the reduction on tissue trauma during the surgical procedure, ultimately maximizing the recovery process.

A procedure performed using one of these new techniques provides for a quick recovery from the breast procedure with minimal post-operative pain. More than 95 percent of patients return to normal activity levels within twenty-four hours following the completion of the surgery. The recovery process also includes using your arms and hands, especially actions that require you to lift your arms and hands over your head.

Facial Paralysis Is A Treatable Condition

The facial muscles that control facial expression are subcutaneous, or just under the skin. These facial muscles (also called mimetic muscles) are innervated or 'supplied' by the facial nerve. The loss of facial innervation often results in a partial loss of facial control, or facial paralysis (the inability to smile or move the face). This condition can be congenital, as some are born with this problem) or the result of a surgical procedure such as tumor removal, loss of innervation due to facial trauma, or as a result of a viral infections, such as Bells Palsy.

There are plastic surgeons that have a special interest in treating patients with this condition. Several possible treatment options exist. These options include nerve grafting techniques and micro-vascular muscle transfer procedures.

Burn Reconstruction Surgery

Burn Reconstruction surgery following a severe burn is a delicate procedure in which a surgeon must decide how to treat a wound, carefully assess its size, severity, and features. Is there skin tissues missing? Have nerve endings or muscle tissues been damaged? Has the skeletal support system been affected?

A split-thickness skin graft, which is most commonly used to treat burn wounds, uses only the layers of skin that re closest to the surface of the skin. in some cases, it is possible for a plastic surgeon to choose a donor site that is in a less conspicuous place.

A full-thickness skin graft is normally used to treat large, deep burn wounds or to cover lost areas of skin over joints where maximum skin elasticity and movement are necessary.

Breast Augmentation Surgery - What You Should Know

Breast enlargement also known as breast augmentation is one of the most commonly requested aesthetic operations. Most women undergo this type of surgery because they want to feel better about their appearance.

Some women choose to have breast augmentation surgery to improve their self image. Some feel dissatisfied because their breasts never developed to a size that meets their expectations. Others want to bring balance to a breast that is somewhat smaller than the other. Often women want the procedure to restore their natural breast volume, which may have decreased as a result of pregnancy, weight loss, aging or even breast cancer surgery.

During your initial consultation, you will be encouraged to discuss your desires, fears, expectations, and goals. The first and foremost objective is the creation of breasts that you envision yourself with. In addition to increasing breast size, your plastic surgeon will strive to create a more aesthetically pleasing breast by improving shape, balance, and proportion.

As with any surgical procedure, it is highly recommended that you do your research and consult with a qualified and skilled doctor such as Byran Texas Plastic Surgeon Dr Malcolm Rude. Be sure and have all your questions answered and you fully understand the procedure PRIOR to havign your chosen surgical procedure.

What Is Breast Reduction?

Women with very large, pendulous breasts may experience a variety of medical problems caused by the excessive weight-from back and neck pain and skin irritation to skeletal deformities and breathing problems. Bra straps may leave indentations in their shoulders. And unusually large breasts can make a woman-or a teenage girl-feel extremely self-conscious.

Breast reduction surgery, technically known as reduction mammaplasty, is designed for such women. The procedure removes fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts, making them smaller, lighter, and firmer. It can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. The goal is to give the woman smaller, better-shaped breasts in proportion with the rest of her body.

If you're considering breast reduction, this will give you a basic understanding of the procedure- when it can help, how it's performed, and what results you can expect. It can't answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Please be sure to ask your doctor if there is anything about the procedure you don't understand.

The Best Candidates for Breast Reduction

Breast reduction is usually performed for physical relief rather than simply cosmetic improvement. Most women who have the surgery are troubled by very large, sagging breasts that restrict their activities and cause them physical discomfort.

In most cases, breast reduction isn't performed until a woman's breasts are fully developed; however, it can be done earlier if large breasts are causing serious physical discomfort. The best candidates are those who are mature enough to fully understand the procedure and have realistic expectations about the results. Breast reduction is not recommended for women who intend to breast-feed.

Your New Look
Although much of the swelling and bruising will disappear in the first few weeks, it may be six months to a year before your breasts settle into their new shape. Even then, their shape may fluctuate in response to your hormonal shifts, weight changes, and pregnancy.

Of all plastic surgery procedures, breast reduction results in the quickest body-image changes. You'll be rid of the physical discomfort of large breasts, your body will look better proportioned, and clothes will fit you better.

The Latest News from the World of Plastic Surgery

While surfing the internet and reading news stories, I found these plastic surgery news items and thought I would discuss them a bit here:

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has just recently released statistics that show Breast Augmentation Surgery has surpassed Liposuction becoming the most popular plastic surgery procedure in the U.S. More than 350,000 Breast Implant surgeries were performed in 2008. The gain in popularity is no doubt related to the the FDA allowing Doctors and surgeons to use silicone implants in breast surgery.

As more and more women are losing significant amounts of weight, many of these women are also electing to have Breast Enlargement Surgery. This trend seems to be strong in Houston Texas. After massive weight loss, it is common to see women having breast implant surgery to restore lost breast volume. Houston Plastic Surgeon Dr Bruce Smith is also seeing this trend with his patients.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOTOX® is the most common minimally invasive cosmetic procedure with 3.8 million treatments in the U.S. in 2005. Botox works by improving the appearance of wrinkles in the face that are caused by muscle contraction. There is no down time required for a Botox injection. It is relatively painless and results are apparent within a few days. The effects of Botox typically last approximately four months.
