Could Brow Lift Surgery Be Right For You?

Brow lift surgery, also referred to as a "forehead Lift", is cosmetic surgery procedure that is meant to restore a youthful, refreshed look to the forehead area. This procedure corrects sagging or drooping of the forehead skin and treats the horizontal lines and' furrows' that make a person appear tired, sad or angry.

During Brow Lift surgery, the plastic surgeon removes and/or tightens the muscles and tissue that are the cause the brow to 'furrow' and also to minimize frown lines. The surgeon may choose to utilize a conventional surgical method, during which the incision is strategically placed to be hidden just under the hair line. Alternatively the surgeon may choose to perform your brow lift procedure with the use of an endoscope. The endoscope is a viewing instrument that allows some surgical procedures to be successfully performed with small incisions. Both surgical methods provide similar results - a smoother, more youthful appearance to the forehead skin and
creating a more animated appearance.

A Brow Lift Can Help Restore Youthful Vibrance

People who consider brow lift surgery may have noticed the effects of age, gravity, exposure to sunlight, and the stresses of life all taking their toll on a person's face. Muscles and other tissues may slowly begin to droop, causing the patient to look tired or sad. Such factors may affect an individual's confidence, leading them to seek their own brow lift.

A brow lift can help such individuals restore youthful vibrance and energy to the face. The effects of time are virtually undone to restore an individual's face and to remove many of the effects of time and aging. Plastic and cosmetic surgeons accomplish such effects by removing a portion of and tightening the muscles and other tissues that are causing the skin to droop. This not only helps to restore the physical appearance of the patient, but also restores self-confidence and respect to the patient.

A brow lift is a very individualized procedure in which your goals should be realistically determined and discussed with your plastic surgeon. Together you will determine what specific procedures will be performed. A brow lift is often performed in conjunction with other procedures such as a face lift, nose job, or eye surgery.

Santa Monica Brow Lift Information

Brow lift surgery is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia or monitored sedation. The incisions are generally made behind the hairline, though for those with high foreheads, they can be placed in front of the hairline. The operation is performed using a hollow, narrow instrument called an endoscope with a fiber optic light source and camera, through which the procedure is done with small special instruments. The forehead skin is then lifted and repositioned.

What should you expect from a plastic surgeon

Dr. Eric Sadeh, a plastic surgeon in Manhattan New York, recommends you choose a doctor who is board certified and affiliated with a reputable hospital, and is up-to-date on what is new in his field. Does your doctor offer a variety of techniques? With the right doctor, forehead lift (or brow lift) procedures can yield marked results.

Dr. Sadeh has been in practice since the mid-ninties, and combines a sense of aesthetics, his surgical skills, and the latest techniques to achieve the results his clients want. He feels it is crucial that his patients find his practice to be a safe and comfortable environment, as well.

"It's very important that you feel comfortable with your doctor," Dr. Sadeh says. "You should be able to talk to him openly, expressing your concerns. Communication is key in a relationship with your doctor," especially when you're talking about what you want from the surgery. And a doctor who enjoys his work doesn't hurt, either.
